Just came across this. The best thing to use is MOTHER'S Chrome polish cleaner. This stuff is great! You rub it on and take it right off. It will make your tips look like new. It is a bit more expensive then a window cleaner but it will help protect your tips and will not stain them in the process.

I got some NEVRDULL at auto zone, it was like $3.50.
I believe it's made by eagle one.
This stuff is unbelievale, works great.

I've used Mother's on mine, thanks to SaintS2K to recommending it to me... THAT works wonders. So I ask, what's better, NeverDull or Mother's?

hehehe boiler spends in upwards to $6.00 a qt for oil but wont spend $4.00 on two years worth of never dull j/k

looking forward to 10k so that i too can use mobil 1

How do you like the Supersyn? Obviously you are praising it, but can you compaare it to Royal Purple?

SOTO - I think you misread the post. Incubus and Boiler were referring to synthetic motor oil as a way of reducing build-up of crap on the tips. Thus the reference to SuperSyn. Incubus responded with a comparison between Royal Purple (synthetic motor oil) and Mobil 1 (SuperSyn). Tip/stainless steel/chrome cleaner was not part of this.
