Absolutely! There is no such thing as compatibility issues when it comes to clay and QD.

Some clays do break down when you use car wash soap as a lube, but I've never heard of the same thing happening with any brand of QD.

Speaking of which, anyone know if the meguiars retail clay kit

http://www.meguiars.com/?auto-detailing-cl...urface-Clay-Kit

removes wax/sealant?

I heard sonus's clay doesn't?

update... I read the faq on the website

"6. Does clay remove wax?

Yes, while clay is designed to remove above surface bonded contaminants, clay will also remove some wax protection from the surface. We strongly recommend following the claying process with a coat of wax for maximum gloss and protection.
"

So, meguiars does... anyone know of any others that don't?

Thanks.

Honestly, I find it hard to believe that any clay removes no wax. The Sonus clay must remove some wax, but the manufacturer likely considers it a negligble amount and so has declared that it removes no wax.

The reason I say this is that clay is an abrasive substance. This is part of the reason why you use lube with it (it's also sticky is one of the other reasons ). So, if you're dealing with an abrasive then you're removing some wax. How much wax you're actually removing depends on the abrasive level of the clay.

If you want to minimize the amount of wax you remove when you clay then just look for a clay that is described as "ultra fine." This is the lowest abrasive level.
