Default Cleaning AP2 06 seats

I cleaned and conditioned my seats in an attempt to make them darker, thinking that the previous owner never really did any cleaning. But my seats still have a grayish look, and I'd really prefer them to be blacker, but unsure if there is a safe way to do it, or if this is the way the '06 seats are supposed to look.

The picture may be big because I wanted to show the detail.

Thanks for the help.

I believe that 06+ seats just look like that. Mine looked like that when I bought my 07 new. I haven't treated/conditioned them yet, but I have wiped them regularly and they still look the same.

I've been using Lexol products because it doesnt make anything shiny or greasy.

Lexol HAS been known to dry up. I would suggest getting the Leatherique Pristine Clean/Rejuvinator oil. I'm starting to get sold on the system and Marc (MuttGrunt) did a great write up with pics of proof on his MY05 NFR. He pretty much sold me on the stuff

My seats look very similar. The seats have bit of a charcoal tone. Previous owner of my car also neglected the seats and they've already begun cracking. I've been using Meg's Leather Cleaner/Conditioner monthly to try and alleviate the wear.

Yo yo,

I would recommend the Leatherique Conditioner, but not the cleaner. Leatherique is kind of backwards in that you apply the conditioner, let sit for several hours, then use the cleaner to take the oils/conditioner off to leave a super clean surface.

I didn't post the write-up in W&W, but rather my local forum: here's the link:

Additionally Aaron, I've been doing quite the bit of research on leather & leather care recently and have gotten a LOT of information. PM me if you want any of it.

The seats are never going to look black in an 06....because they aren't black.
