Cleaning My (Stock) Wheels
I am getting ready to buy a bunch of cleaning and waxing stuff and was wondering about something I saw regarding the Gold Class Instant Wheel Cleaner from Meguiars. It's description contains the following quote: "It's safe on all factory wheels and all coated wheels but is too aggressive for uncoated aluminum. "

I assume the stock S2K wheels are not uncoated but wanted to make sure I didn't find out the hard way!
Also, should I even get it? Does it really help or should I just wash the wheels the old-fashioned way? (I don't have a lot of time to wash and wax so speed is of the essence.)

There was a post here in the last week or so where another member used some kind of wheel cleaner. The end result was NOT good!
I'm old and my memory has failed me or I'd find that thread for you.
I just wash my wheels as the last thing after I've washed the rest of the car. I use a separate wash mit to do the wheels and exhaust tips. This has worked very well for me. A few washes ago, I Zainoed the wheels and this has made cleaning them even easier. There are so many different kinds of wheel cleaners, I just can't tell which ones are OK for ours.
So I don't bother.

I've been using spray on wheel cleaners for years and years and not once have I had a problem with wheel staining.I'd say the only caution I take these days is not spraying the stuff on my wheel badges and just hitting the outside of the rim......what's with the new pic Viper?....I kinda liked the pic of you.

I don't understand why some folks don't wash their soft tops and wheels with the same stuff and at the same time that they wash their cars. Perhaps they will shrink?
