Default Cleaning My (Stock) Wheels

I am getting ready to buy a bunch of cleaning and waxing stuff and was wondering about something I saw regarding the Gold Class Instant Wheel Cleaner from Meguiars. It's description contains the following quote: "It's safe on all factory wheels and all coated wheels but is too aggressive for uncoated aluminum. "

Here is the link: http://www.meguiars.com/product_showroom/s....cfm?SrcLine=CW

I assume the stock S2K wheels are not uncoated but wanted to make sure I didn't find out the hard way!

Also, should I even get it? Does it really help or should I just wash the wheels the old-fashioned way? (I don't have a lot of time to wash and wax so speed is of the essence.)

There was a post here in the last week or so where another member used some kind of wheel cleaner. The end result was NOT good! I'm old and my memory has failed me or I'd find that thread for you.
I just wash my wheels as the last thing after I've washed the rest of the car. I use a separate wash mit to do the wheels and exhaust tips. This has worked very well for me. A few washes ago, I Zainoed the wheels and this has made cleaning them even easier. There are so many different kinds of wheel cleaners, I just can't tell which ones are OK for ours. So I don't bother.

I've been using spray on wheel cleaners for years and years and not once have I had a problem with wheel staining.I'd say the only caution I take these days is not spraying the stuff on my wheel badges and just hitting the outside of the rim......what's with the new pic Viper?....I kinda liked the pic of you.

Armor All wheel cleaner. One at a time
Spray on: wait 40 seconds...
wipe the entire wheel...
spray off with a hose...
dry the wheels while drying the car.

I'm starting to see about as many types of wheel cleaners on the market as waxes.

The funny part of all this is that you don't need any wheel cleaners at all. Treat your wheels just like you would the hood or a fender and you will not need any cleaners if you wash your car weekly.

It's just that easy.

Sometimes, the simple, easy way is just not "believeable". Unless it's hard, complicated and wrought with pitfalls that MUST be overcome, it will NOT work.
I don't understand why some folks don't wash their soft tops and wheels with the same stuff and at the same time that they wash their cars. Perhaps they will shrink?
