Cleaning the steering wheel
New-to-me '04 has a couple of white stains on the steering wheel that look like it got swiped by someone with white paint on their hands. Need advice on how to clean it. Tried a gentle application of nail polish remover with a Q-Tip on an inconspicous spot, but got lots of black on the tip with very little of the white coming off.
Other suggestions?
BTW - I put the lid of the nail polish remover down on the silver spot between the roof and hazard switches - turns out that's not metal - now I've got to replace it. DOH!
Thanks for reading.

we have a leather expert... hopefully he sees this thread-
have you tried leather cleaners?
my guess is that they might not get paint, but worth a try anyway.
i would use the lexol cleaner or the townsend cleaner...
once you get it clean, be sure to use the leather preservative

Townsend leather has a cleaning "pen" if I'm not mistaken that may be what you need.
Here you will find that the piece you need to replace is VERY expensive (that's my opinion anyway).

Good Luck.

The stick may work depending on what type of base the paint has. If it does not there are ways of stripping off the paint, but then the leather would most likely need to be refinished.
I would try the stick and if it proves to be unsuccessful, let me know and I will hook you up with someone who can fix it for sure.
Thanks,
Sean
