Default Cleaning the top, HELP

OK, so i did a search on this and found that people use 303 cleaner and protection shiot. Some also use Porsche(sp)

What do you guys think is the best. My local boat stoare has 303 but I dont think they have Porsche.

In what steps should I do this?
Wash the car wetting the top, then cleaner then protect.
or
Cleaner, protect then wash the car?

Do i scrub the top or just spray it and watch it soak in?

thanks guys

Wash the top just like you do the rest of the car. Let it dry. Then apply 303 onto a lint free cloth and wipe it all over the soft top. Let dry before folding the top down. I do it just before bedtime and let it sit overnight. Next day, just go about your business.

Viper, when you say wash the top like you would the rest of the car, do you mean use soap on it as you would the rest of the car too?

Yes. It was meant to be washed just like the rest of the car. Yuppie guys and gals run their convertibles through the car wash.

I just wash mine with running water and a soft-bristle brush. No protectant of any kind, and it's perfect after 5+ years. Of course, it's garaged, and the Seattle-area weather is kind.

I use car shampoo on the top and let it dry in the shade.

Yes, just use car wash soap on it when you wash the rest of the car. It is vinyl. A good car wash soap (nothing harsh like a detergent or dish washing liquid) will not hurt it. When I wash the car I just dry the top like I do the rest of the car (I use an Absorber towel) and the left over water in the "weave" of the vinyl dries pretty quickly. When I treat it, I put the 303 on a sponge and wipe it. A rag would work just as well. Don't overdo the 303 application, use enough to evenly coat it and not leave streaks on the top. Once it soaks in, I lightly rub it with a soft towel to take off any excess or even out any areas.

I use Ragtopp protectent and cleaner. No streaks at all and it does not bleed onto the paint on the next wash. Either spray it directly to the top and even out or onto a cloth. Works great.
