Default Cleaning wheels

Hi all,

Just got a new TL Type "S" and went with another stock wheel that are a pain to clean. they attract brake dust like no other wheels i've ever owned and there's a spot that i can barely get one finger in let alone a sponge or anything. I was at a car wash the other day and saw a guy with an M3 with lots of tough places to clean on astock rim and he used blue coral, said it worked great with no long term damage.

Here's a pic of the wheel, just your basic factory rim, acura call them sparkle silver.

Also... what do you guys use to dry your cars? ever see one of those Sueegee things? they work?

Apprciate the help!!!!

Andy

have you seen our wheel cleaning thread in the stickies??

i will track it down and post it back-
in the meantime, the first step is getting the wheels clean. next is protecting them to minimize the dust- i like a synthetic covered by a carnauba - or a combo over the synthetic (wheelwax is a combo, for example).
then they need to be dusted and detail sprayed periodically (if you are trying to keep them clean all the time)

and a bit more normal person's cleaning:

I use simple green myself, undiluted. If you are willing to take the wheels off, try the magic eraser. that cleans pretty well. i did it once, and was surprised. also, you could try a small wheel brush, or even a toothbrush.

having a toothbrush or two in your detailing arsenal, is so very under-rated.

wanabe, by "big blue" are you referring to the blue waffle weave from sonus, or something along those lines? if so, i wholeheartedly agree. i am amazed at how much water those towels can hold.
