someone scratched my trunklid
I was parked in a casino parking structure overnight and the next morning found that it had been vandalized with what appears to be a fat sharpie or permanent marker. I'm glad i didnt get keyed, but this sharpie vandalism thing is new to me and I've never heard of something like this happening before. Has this ever happened to anybody?
Update:
Found out it wasnt permanent marker after all ... its scratches in the clearcoat which we couldnt remove this morning. I think I will have to try a more abrasive product (sonus? zaino?) next time. Scroll down near bottom of page for pictures.
Do you guys have any suggestions or specific instructions on how to remove this?

There is a product called Grafitti Remover, that you can purchase at some office supply stores and cleaning specialty (industrial supply) stores.
HOWEVER,
I'd be very cautious about using it on paint. It's been a few years since I used it, so I can't remember if it is safe on paint. I'd sure test it first.

add to the above:
clay and then polish
if its on the surface, the clay will get it- if its worked into the clear its gonna take some clear removal (polish) probably.
i would work just one spot (the lowest one on the car) first... whatever works on it is what i would then go for on the rest.
echo the tequilla- just make sure it all gets in your mouth!

As mentioned above, isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, will wipe that stuff away with barely any effort. You can get a quart of it for about $3 at your local drug store.
