Thanks for the info about "simple green" being so corossive! I don't think I would have ever used it on the car anyway but now I know for sure I never will. Man that naval report is SCARY!

I get my dealer to give it a steam clean occassionally. I don't think they even charge for it.

Cleaning it looks ok, but the armor all makes the valve cover a rich deep color. It looks brand new.

1. start car
2. open hood
3. spray with hose
4. run for 15 mins
5. shut off
The water doesn't effect the electrical components or engine at all. I've done it many many times.
