Default Wax then clear bra? Tips needed

Well I finally got my celica about 2-3 weeks ago and had my hood repainted. I purchased a clear bra and was wondering if it is safe to wax then apply the clear bra?? I figured I would skip the clay bar and polishing process because its a fresh paint job with no swirls in it. The instructions tell me to use a very dilute solution of baby shampoo and distilled water so that it makes positioning the clear bra easier, I was thinking that this mix would leave nasty residue and would strip the paint of its wax (if I applied any) and would cause the paint to lose its shine. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!

Wax will keep the clear bra glue from sticking properly.

I would just do a wipe down with IPA mixture. No products whatsoever. The heat and sun may discolor underneath the bra.

When I had my clear bra installed, the guy said he had to strip off all the factory wax and what not for the clear bra to stay on properly.

"Fresh out of the paint shop"?

You should check with the paint manufacturer to find out how long the paint takes to outgas or cure.

If you put on the bra too early you will void the paint warranty.

This has been discussed ad nauseum here.....

I talked with at least 3 installers before I had my clear bra put on. All said the same, go ahead and wax if I wanted to. That would keep everything looking uniform. All claim that the glue would not be bothered by waxing. Was advised to wait at least 60 days prior to installation.

Had mine put on July Fourth, no problems to date.

I agree, my installer wiped the paint down to remove all wax before he installed the 3M bra. Since I was having it bra installed 2 days after I bought the car it wasn't a problem.
