Headlight lenses get more heat exposure and they're polycarbonate. I don't think the tails are made out of the same plastics since they're less likely to receive any kind of impact from day to day use (rock strike).

And when you get it shiny again, skip the clear coat and put some 3M PPF on them. It'll last forever and won't yellow or fog. And yes, it can take the heat of the headlight.

It costs about $50 and you can get the proper cut outs from these guys.

I may check that one out. However, I am a bit nervous as I have used headlight armor (made from the 3M material, but not sure if it is the same spec) on the fog lights on my other car and they literally turn black after about 6 months. They cant handle the heat. These are thick glass lensed fogs that are used in the Scions and the Matrix. I used Rockblocker (still 3M material) prior to that and they never had that issue in the same application. Had to replace a fog and went with the headlight armor and have had two of them do this.

I understand your concern, however there is no reason to hesitate. I have done it with 2 S2000's and know quite a few other people, and nobody has had any issues. The plastic lens on the s2000 does not get anywhere near as hot as a glass lens fog light. Not only is the lens of the fog light far far closer to the lighting element than on the s2000 headlight, but glass transmit the heat very well, while the plastic covering on the s2000 does not. Go for it.

Good points. May try that during the "its winter and I need to find stuff to keep me busy between snowboarding and kart league" months while the S is just sitting lonely in the garage
