Default Dash/Console Cleaner

I was wondering what the best product was for cleaning/maintaining the dash (I assume its vinyl) and door panals, etc.

Also, what product for the back hard plastic (glove compartment).

Lastly, what products for the seats, and leather portions of the shifter console and doors.

for vinyl, vinylex & 303 (in that order)

for leather, townsends and lexol (in that order)- note that leather needs two products... a cleaner and then a preservative

somewhere we have a thread on this, and i will try to track it down...
here it is- from the top of the board:

there may be other threads on this and if anyone out there has favs, post em up!!!

Hmmm . . .

For vinyl and black plastic my current favorite protectant is DP Interior Surface Protectant. Hands down this product gives the most matte look and leaves the surface the most dry which reduces dust accumulation.

For cleaning the same areas I usually use Meguiar's APC diluted 10:1 or Meguiar's Interior Quick Detailer.

For leather I usually use either Zymol or Lexol. I haven't tried Townsends yet. However, as Wanabe says make sure you get two products (a cleaner and a conditioner).

as with any product, its personal opinion...
mine is that i like the lexol products (including vinylex- for vinyl)-

i should say that if i had a choice, i would use the townsends instead of the lexol for cleaning and protection- but again, lexol is fine.

its been a long time since i did a comparo (half the car with each then evaluate), so if you or anyone else wants to do this- it would be a great project!

Hahaha!

I meant you.

I'd do it, but I'm short the Townsends and I think I'm done spending money until the big x-mas detailing sales hit.

So, I'm in need of a nice quick detailer for the interior. I can only wash the car about once a month because of apartment and such but she is garaged.

I drive almost exclusively top down. Once a month the dash is protected with Vinylex. What do you guys recommend in between? I collect quite a bit of dust on the dash and it drives me nuts.
