Default Delicate Mirrors?

I recently went over the car with my PC and SFX polishes, and when I came to the mirrors I was suprised to see bright red on the pad. I know that NFR clearcoat has red in it but the mirrors produced a red much more vivid than the rest of the car. I assume it's because of the sharp edges and uneven surface area of the mirrors but I wonder, is the paint softer or thinner on the mirrors than the rest of the car? Should one be more careful with the mirrors than the rest? After that incident I don't plan on polishing the mirrors ever again!

While I have your attention, I also have been getting condensation on the inside of my plastic rear window. I don't recall this happening last winter, but this is only my second winter with the S. the temps have been around 40 at night. I'm not sure if this is related but I also took the PC to the exterior of the window using PlastX. I don't see how this could cause condensation on the inside but i'm out of explanations.

1. on the red cars its normal... sorry, i know that you were hoping for something more profound!

2. gotta do in and outside of the rear window, and your experience with the window is normal too. one way to minimize this is to run the ac even in the winter... i dont have personal experience with this, but have been told that this is your solution.

Thanks wanabe!

Oh, one more question, kinda time sensitive (no pun intended...keep reading). We have our local mid-A Wash & Wax tomorrow, and I just applied a layer of carnauba today at 5pm. Will tomorrow morning (about 10am) be too early to wash and apply a second coat? I can't remember if cure time is 12 or 24 hours for carnauba.

carnuba cure time depends on lots of things... temp, humidity and percent of carnuba in the product-
if your car has been in the garage since you did the last coat, just dust it off and use a detailers spray (i would use one with carnuba if you have it) and then do the next coat- cure time isnt exact... and overnight is close enough for most situations.
if you drove the car or if it hasnt been in the garage since you detailed it, then a quick wash is a good idea before the next coat.
btw, worst thing that can happen if it didnt cure completely is that you will just have one coat (maybe one and a half) instead of two!

see ya there, crazy

As far as the mirrors, I'm pretty sure the red and white s2000's have single stage paint on the mirrors. So, no clearcoat. The reds do have a tinted clearcoat on the rest of the car, though.
