Detail Advice Needed!!
I am planing on detailing my Dad's 2003 Black G35 and my 2000 Silverstone S2000 and I cant decide on what products to purchase. I have an orbital buffer, but I need a good polish to take the swirl marks out of the G35. What should I go with? I also think I need a clay bar to help get some imperfections out of the paint. What should I go with? Then I need a good sealant wax for both cars what should I go with? For my convertible top should I use 303? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
wow, lotsa questions!!
lets try this:
first off... depends on whether you have used the machine before or not.
if not, my advice would be not to tackle this (polishing) as your first machine project!
use the machine to app and remove some wax first- and maybe use a swirl filler for now.
my thoughts on your swirl removal-
if you need to clay, do that after you wash the car. inspect for clay need after the wash.
good clay info:
http://autopia-carcare.com/autopia/inf-clay.html
then i use several products for swirl removal... depends on how much haze the car has as to which i would prefer. assuming not too much hazing, i would use the 3m for the dark car. on the silver car i would prob go with 1z.
for the top- 303 is fine, and its my second choice (i like vinylex a bit more).
for the sealants i like synthetics covered by carnubas (my first choices would be zaino, or finish first for synthetic and for carnuba i would only use p21s).
give us some more info as to your experience with the machine and we can guide you better.

a couple of product suggestions:
for the black car- the swirl remover (yup, thats my car in the ad!!):
http://properautocare.com/3mperswirmar.html
for the silver car my suggestion:
http://autopia-carcare.com/autopia/1z-930306.html
or
http://autopia-carcare.com/autopia/1z-930806.html
btw, i am assuming normal light swirls... if you have any heavier scratches the above are not meant for that.

Although I use Klasse All in One and top it off with S100 on my Suzuka Blue S2K, and am totally pleased with the results, a friend of mine just used McGuiree's NXT on his black Eclipse and I must say it really came out nice.
I am going to start using SSR2.5 this weekend for swirls.. but in the past I use Meg's #83 DACP to remove swirls
Klasse Twins for my car - wet looking
WolfGang Twins for everyone else's car - salad oil shiny but extremely soft feel
becareful doing compound and swirl removal with an orbital buffer.. can do more harm than good due to the inability of the speed and the proper pads for the job
best of luck

I am fairly experianced with the buffer. I do not need a poloish that is for the pros I just need to get some wear and tear swearl markes and road grime out of the black G35. The S has very minimal swearl marks if any I just want to make it look wet and shine like a mother. Thanks for the help and advice.
