Default Driving on freshly paved roads

I went out for a Saturday morning ride today and found myself on a winding country road that had been freshly paved. I had no idea about the roadwork done. The paving was so fresh that I could hear little pebbles hitting my car for the 10 miles of the road. I couldn't pull off the road because there were no side streets; I was stuck. I drove on the freshly paved road the whole way. I worried about tar staining my paint and rocks being stuck to the inside of my bumper.

When I got home I inspected my car. The wheels were dirty before the drive so I wiped them down. They cleaned up nicely. I could not see any scratches or stains on my black paint. Everything looked okay.

Is there anything I should do? What would you do to ensure your car sustained no lasting damage?Should I wash the car right away? Thanks in advance for your help.

in your case, i would prob wash the car with a good car shampoo .

Thanks for the reply, wanabe. I washed my car and wheels and didn't notice any tar on the car. I try to avoid freshly paved roads whenever possible.
