Dumb question?
I'm gonna be washing my new S2000 tomorrow for the first time and was wondering if I wash the top any different than the body. I've never owned a convertable to I just want to make sure if I'm supposed to get a special cleaner or do anything different .
Thanks

my top has been washed twice in the two years that i have owned it... it is almost never up and still looks new (it is usually under the boot).
when i wash the car i am careful not to get water on the top- and immediately dry any that gets there.
when i did use it, i used a brush and the same shampoo that i used on the rest of the car once and the other time used porsche top cleaner on the top and rest of the car.
have applied vinylex once too...

Nope, nothing different, really. I've washed my top every single time I've washed the car (which has been a lot) using the same sheepskin as I do for the rest of the exterior. Protectant (303) is a good idea at least twice a year.
