Exhaust Residue Stuck on Neuspeed Exhaust Tips
Greetings folks,
I have a Neuspeed exhaust on my S2K and I noticed that the dark exhaust residue is starting to accumulate at the very ends of the exhaust tips (the end rings are made out of a different metal than the rest of the exhaust tips which are polished stainless steel).
My question is: what is the most potent cleaner to get rid of this residue? I tried my most powerful brake dust remover (that I have) and it didn't work. Fine metal polishing compound does not work either because those end rings at the exhaust tips do not have a smooth surface.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. -KM.

I've had this issue too in the past till I figured out the "care and feeding" of these tips.
1st, if you wash the tips as you would the rest of the car whenever you wash the car, they won't have as much buildup and whatever does buildup won't be as hard to remove.
If you do keep up with the washing, it will still build up to a certain degree. Then use something like "NEVR-DULL" to clean them up.
If you haven't been doing either of the above two and they get really bad, then do the first two. At each stage, more of the crud will have come off leaving you with only the truly tough stuff left. When it comes to this, I used a fine grit "wet" sandpaper. Soak a couple of small squares of the sandpaper in luke warm water for about 1/2 hour before using. Then gently use it to buff off the remaining crud. Then finish off with the NEVR-DULL to polish and shine them up.
ps. You wash your wheels, too, don't you?

xviper you mean you're running a neuspeed exhaust too? i keep those billet tips washed all the time and i use a little dry boeing spray protectant on them. that seems to help them clean easier. I sure like the way they look with sebring. I've never seen another S2000 with them yet other than me I really like the exhaust both sight and sound

is it worth the $1000 for that exhaust? Could someone post some pics, and possibly video/sound clips?
Thanks,

Me too...i put mine on when I broke in my clutch prior to my supercharger install...fell in love with it instantly and I agree excellent investment in my car. I noticed a low end difference immediately as I was babying my clutch through breakin that I attribute to the exhaust.
