Default Extra Special Waxes/Sealants

Hey guys. I know I'll probably get flamed for posting this, as it has probably been answered a million times before. I did read through 10 pages, and didn't find an answer though (the search button isn't working).

Anyways, if you have a certain wax or sealant that you like better than the rest, could you please post up what it is and why? I've been using Zaino for the past 3 or 4 years, and I absolutely love it. Lately, I've been seeing a lot pictures on the net about Blackfire Wet Diamond. I want some reviews from people that I trust (on s2ki) instead of random people on the website. Whether good or bad, throw it up! I've also been seeing Werkstatt Acrylic Jett Trigger. Again, good or bad reviews, throw them up!

Thanks guys!
Matt

My black S2K is currently dressed in two coats of Wet Diamond. I love it. The slickest protectant I have used. But I honestly do not know how to compare it to the others I have used. My car has looked terrific with every wax or sealant I have used. But here are my favorites:

1) Zymol Vintage: I was given a sample. The paint looked very deep. Hard to explain. And it may all be in my imagination. I experienced some sweating for almost a week afterwards.

2) Pinnacle Souveran: I think I saw what can only be described as a glow. I think. Very easy to apply and remove. Durability is lacking.

3) Blackfire Wet Diamond: super slick, great gloss. Application is easy.

4) Wolfgang Fuzion: wonderful wet look. Also very easy to apply.

5) Swissvax Best of Show: I love the scent. But the wax didn't knock my socks off, as I hoped it would. The car looked very good. I experienced some sweating for a day or two.

6) Harly Wax: warm, balanced carnauba look. Great value.

These are my six favorites so far. The others I have tried (Reflections, NXT) are not far behind. Next spring I will try a couple new ones (P21S 100%, Midnight Sun, 50/50), but I expect I will not see a significant difference between them and the ones listed above. As I said, my car looks good in all of them.

my 3 cents (probably 4 too many)-
1. zaino still is my go to for my car
2. i use several others including jeff's (that you mentioned)- its on my harley right now
3. its really all about opinion- each one has a slightly diff ease of use, a diff shine, diff depth, diff dust protection, diff hang time (how long it lasts), etc.- there is no #1 for everyone (if there was, there wouldnt be any #2s!!)
4. akimel's harley wax is s100- dont know why, but i just never can get past using the auto version p21s. in either form its a great wax. that or lusso oro are good. i love to "finger rub" waxes (i dont use a towel, i use my fingers and palms to apply the wax.
no flames, and i know that we have a similar "whats your fav protectant", but we can always use an updated version.

Wanabe,

I have a rather difficult (to me anyway) question. I don't think you can, but I figured I'd ask anyway. As you know, I've been using Zaino for 3 or 4 years. I like the way the Werkstat Acrylic Jett Trigger looks, as well as the Blackfire Wet Diamond. First, will either of those two sealants mix with Zaino? And if they do, what would be the combination? I'm afraid if I put the Sealant on first, then Zaino won't stick to it. I'm also afraid that if I put Zaino on first and the sealant over it, then I won't be able to layer the Zaino like you are supposed to. It's also a possibility that the Sealant might break down the Zaino isn't it?

Sorry if that question seems like a noob question.
Thanks for the link also, and keep the opinions coming!

never used zaino.

the werkstat and blackfire are awesome sealants, and both have good durability.

order some wet obsession. its a carnauba wax.

put down a layer of werkstat AJT, wait 30 minutes. put on a layer of wet obsession, one panel ata time. wait 1-2 minutes. buff off.

stand back. and

such an awesome combo, especially on silver.

zymol glasur is awesome on black, especially on non-metallic blacks.

collinite 845 is a good wax and is affordable.

Harly Wax is S100? I did not know that. I had heard that S100 and P21S were the same waxes. Are you sure about Harly Wax? I thought Harly Wax has been around for three or four decades--more of an old school wax. Anyway, I like it.

I love these threads because you ask 1 question and you get 100 different answers.

On most detailing forums these threads typically degrade quickly into flame wars, but they stay pretty civil for the most part on S2KI.

The best I've EVER seen paint look was after freshly polishing my S2K I put a coat of coats of Zymol Concours on then a couple weeks later I put a couple layers of Swissvax Concourso. As much as Zymol and Swissvax hate each other their products sure did play nicely together. I've never seen such wet, deep, reflective paint in my life. It really glowed. Sadly, I sold my Zymol Concours shortly after that so I was never able to replicate the effect. I would have kept it but I thought the great look was due to the Swissvax as it was my first time trying it.

As far as sealants like Zaino, Klasse, Wolfgang, etc. I think their best use is wheel protection. I HATE the look of sealants. They're way too bright for my taste. I prefer the warm glow of carnauba wax.
