Default Faded Hood

Ok guys I need some opinions here. The hood on my 01 is starting to fade pretty badly and I was wondering what steps you would recommend? Wet sand and compound? Or is it possible to save it with out having to go so abrasive? The clear just looks terribly hazey, I will try to post pics if I can just not sure how well it will show up with my crappy camera.. I'm wondering if I should just bite the bullet and have the front repainted as it's also got a few rock chips here and there but would like to put that off as long as possible. I'm very mechanically versed but still pretty new to paint/detailing. I wash the car pretty regularly with microfiber sponges and dry with microfiber towels. I try to wax every few months or so with Nu Polish. The rest of the paint is in decent shape sans the rock chips here and there (bumper needs a respray pretty bad but I'm not too worried about that right now.)

I would try to wet sand it with a 2000-3000 grit then buff it off with Meguiars 105 compound follow by a meguiars 205 and finish it off with a good coat of wax. Doesn't hurt before taking it to the body shop.

Thanks for the tip. I was hoping I could get away without wet sanding, but I really don't think I'm going to be able to. Any advice on the buffing pad? What type should I use?

Im guessing your car is nfr as is mine. Does the haze have any whiteness to it? Chances are it will end up like mine has. Itll take a few buffs but basically the clear is thin and shot. To much buffing only speeds it up unfortunately.
