Default Faded seats

Hello,
My vision corsa seats are starting to fade pretty bad. They are red fabric and have started to look pink in my NFR car. I was curious as to if a product existed to rejuvenate the color back to its original state.

Thanks,
Jacob

hmm. do you know the exact material they are made out of?

sounds like the sun is hard at work. you could try some Folex on an inconspicuous spot and see. maybe cleaning them good will help bring back the color.

I am not 100 percent sure what material they are. I can try to clean them for sure. I guess that will be my #1 priority then look into Folex.

They seem to feel like a really short type of fleece material, at lease that is what the feel like to me.

Thanks for the quick info.

Find out exactly what material they are before using any chemicals.

Short of recovering the seats, the next option would be upholstery fabric spray dye for sun bleached fabric. Unfortunately, the sun may have weakened the fabric too severely necessitating re-upholstery. Push in hard on the most bleached out area (usually the top surfaces) and see if the material/padding give way. If it's not decayed/weakened you can look into the next options.

I cannot recommend any dyes, but I would seek out a shop in the Bay Area that specializes in sports/antique car restoration for advice on upholstery. In fact you might even check with the manufacturer/ distributor of those seats and see if they offer seat cover replacement kits. Good luck!

Thanks for the info guys!

I am having a hard time getting any info on these seats. They are rare in the US and have been discontinued. I found this link: http://yhst-1408381693991.stores.yah...akecorase.html

There are 4 pads I can take out of the seat that have velcro on them that wrap a foam cushion. The foam is in good shape and has all of its structural integrity. Sounds like a spray dye is the preferred route after some professional consult.

Ill go hunt around and see if there is a tag on the cover that denotes the fabric type.

nice seats!!! You could try and find seats the same size and style from other companies and see if the fabric cover is about the same size, and get covers from them if possible.

just a suggestion that might be food for thought. GL!

Thanks! I think there are a few companies that sell seats that are very similar shape that could possibly work. I looked around and cant find any tags on them.

I have considered taking the fabric off and maybe rit dyeing them or even dyeing them to black, but I dont want to ruin their value.

Thanks again!
