Default A few questions

Im taking heart to what I've searched on here but, I've also asked some fellow sports car lovers what they do.

I get "old wifes tales" and tricks

One of which that seems to be very helpful to avoiding mice in, out, about and around is (wierdly so) bounty dryer cloths.
A co-worker of mine and her husband own a 08 vette and an (I believe) 01 stang.
I'm very curious of what preps they go through for the 4-6 month seperation.

Anywho, as for a "wifes tale/trick"
A fellow heating air conditioning friend/boss owns an 01 (I believe) Roush stang.
He has told me (while chatting about detailing products we use) that a guy had told him how bad tire shines are for sidewalls.
A way to rejuvenate the cracking that eventually happens, is to use transmission fluid. Honestly i'm crazy interested on such results I have not seen, not about to try it either. Has anyone else caught wind of this?
Seen it in action?

Id really like to know more little tricks.
Like how to really avoid spiders from creating a horror movie like scene of webs in my interior as well as mice dens in places that dont exist (normally).

cant answer the mice q, other than to tell you that any stored car should be checked on periodically...

as to the tire shine question, it has been discussed here before and its been quite awhile (we do have a thread on it somewhere)-
i do not recall a scientific answer, but do know that i would prefer to use a product that is specifically meant for the job rather than something that seems to work. imo, its one of the "you get what you pay for" type of answers.
the tire products that most of us use are not that expensive and they do a good job of protecting and keeping the tires like new-
the original concerns came from the old armor-all forumlas, which were changed many years ago.

Ahhh! Yes!! It was Armor-all products that was on the line there.

Also, he kept telling me how great Zaino was.
Im getting interested in that, seeing how My budget lead me away from Zymol's products.

My question is... How do mice get in the car?

Mice or other things like to nest on parked cars. My friend has a cabin in the mountains and has that problem with his truck. It's parked for most of the year. His solution.....coolant tubs made from coffee cans or five gallon buckets. They jump in to get at the coolant, but they can't get out! Pretty gross, but at the same time so is mice in your vehicle.

This is something that pops up every few years like a bad internet scam. Keep the transmission fluid... in your transmission.
