Menzerna power lock and Zaino Z2 Pro are the best in durability with the slight edge to the Zaino for the look it gives the wheels and slightly better durability.

If you want a real good protection that lasts a long time and helps prevent dust buildup, then look into getting the wheels coated with a glass or quartz surface coating from companies like Gtechniq or 22PLE.
how much would something like that run?

To do all 4 wheels I normally charge $50 but all professional detailers will have different prices.

To buy a bottle of it.. its normally in the $80 range.

I use Wolfgang paint sealant and am happy with the results . You have to let it cure for 6 hours or so to really bond though

Between the heat, grit, and cleaners wheels see wax isn't ideal. I also use Menzerna Power Lock; it's tougher than any wax out there.

If you already have a favorite paint sealant/wax on hand I would just apply that to the wheels every few months or so to help protect and make cleanings easier.

If your interested in long-term durability, look into the semi-permanent to permanent coatings on the market from brands like gtechnique, 22ple, cquartz, opticoat.

Just pick your favorite product and use it often.
