I wonder if theres even a clear coat?? That looks like a hassle if some type of oily residue was put on the car

usually something like that does have a clear coat it just has a additive that makes it flat. ive done a couple things like that never a whole car usually just hoods trunks stripes etc. and as far as maintaining i dont think its any different than normal aside from not being able to wax or buff it lol

I guess that would make it totatlly different then. The problem is if you wax/buff it then it will likely become more shiny which defeats the purpose of the flat black paint job. Personally, I think these cars look dumb but that's just one man's opinion.

I think the problem is that there is currently no way to properly take care of these cars. Anything you do to them that you would do to a traditional paint job would make them glossy. However, if you leave the paint uncared for you'll get clear coat failure. People who own these cars need someone to invent a matte sealant or wax. Also, if you get a scratch what do you do? You can't buff it out.

I almost painted a car a Flat metallic blue color, but after doing some research i realized that the any sort of oil or rubbing on the car will change the quality of the finish(make it glossy) The only way to get it back to flat being time.

There are a few options for painting it one being to just leave a paint coat, but some companies are developing clear coats that remain flat they have been using them on motorcycles for some time now.

you can definately wax this type of paint. It will not make it significantly shinier; in fact, I am willing to bet that this car has wax on it in these pictures.
