Unhappy Getting ready for tomorrow

Ok, I have some basic questions for detailing... I have looked over and over through guides and countless post about detailing the s2000. I just want to be able to do it right with out messing with the paint on my car.

Right now Im staring at 150$ of Meguiars products that I have been using and I just want to make sure that Im going to be doing my detail tomorrow the right way. (getting my pc tomorrow)

Right now I currently have...

Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Step 1 Paint Cleaner
Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Step 2 Polish
Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Step 3 Carnauba Wax
Meguiar's Gold Class Clear Coat Paste Car Wax
Meguiar's Natural Shine Vinyl and Rubber Protectant
Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer
Meguiar's Scratch X
Meguiar's PlastX
Meguiar's NXT Insane Shine Tire Coating
Meguiar's Quick Detailer
Meguiar's Hot Rims All wheel Cleaner
Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash
Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner
Meguiar's Quick Wheel Detailer
Meguiar's Clay Bar
Eagle One Auto Glass Cleaner
Bluemagic Convertible Top Cleaner

Tomorrow I will have the following coming in...

Porter Cable 7424
Pinacle XMT Ultra Fine Swirl Remover #1
Pinnacle XMT Fine Swirl Remover #2
Pinnacle XMT Carnauba Finishing Glaze
2 CCS 6.5 inch Yellow Cutting Foam Pads
2 CCS 6.5 inch Orange Light Cutting Foam Pads
2 CCS 6.5 inch White Polishing Foam Pads
1 CCS 6.5 inch Gray Finishing Foam Pad
1 Blue Finessing Foam Pad 6.5
Lambswool Leveling Pad
Pinnacle XMT Polishing Foam Pad Cleaner
Pinnacle XMT Polishing Foam Pad Conditioner

Question One... What is the best rag to wash the car with?

Question Two... I didn't like the results of the liquid wax and moved to the Meguiar's Gold Class Paste wax.... How and when do I apply the wax with the pc and with what pad?

Question Three... When removing the wax can I use a microfiber bonnet with the lambsool leveling pad with the pc on a low speed (3-4)?

And my over all biggest confusion is how and where to start with all the products I have

Please correct me if im wrong, but here are the steps I would take

1. Wash the car w/ the two bucket method
2. Dry Car in shade with microfiber towel
3. Claybar Car
4. Use PC with Orange Pad and Swirl Remover #2
5. Use PC with White Pad and Swirl Remover #1
6. Use PC with Gray Pad and Carnauba Finishing Glaze

*NOTE* here is where I get lost... and would like everyone imput on what next

Im sorry if this post is long its just I really would like to get the best advice and help from everyone in this forum on washing and waxing. Thanks in advance

WJ

Try the Edge Schmitt. Some people like genuine sheepskin wool mitt's but these are often hard to maintain and don't last as long.

As for washing the glass, I use a microfiber towel. Spray the product on the towel, wipe on the glass. Then use the dry side of the microfiber towel to remove streaking.

I have two sheeskin mitts that are 7 years old. I just used them today and they look like new. We'll see if the Schmitt make it that long

My personal opinions.

1. A sheepskin mitt or Shmitt

2a. Megs's Gold Class is not a decent wax. It is a cleaner solvent with some wax added. Get some S100 or P21s if you want carnauba. If you want synthetic get Wolfgang, Zaino, FMJ, 4*UPP, Poorboys EX-P or one of the many others.

2b. I feel applying wax with a machine is a waste of product and time. By the time you get your machine all ready to go i'll have half the car done by hand. Then you have to put it all away and wash your pads.

3. The machine does nothing for removing wax either. Get a few good Mf towels and do it by hand. Save your machine for polishing

S100 is usually sold in harley Davidson motorcycle shops. Don't be afraid to order online though. Most of the besst products are only available online.

Love the Schmitt!! And the other side is great for the top...

No need to dry the car before claying...

I agree, just use the PC for polishing...

I like Invisible Glass (Autozone, Wal-Mart, etc.)...it leaves no streaks...

Good luck, make you you post some pics!
