Default gray top to black

My top on my 2001 s2k has turned gray - been outside when I'm at work. I got a spray-on top sealant from the Porsche dealer but have not used it. What's the best / easiest way to get the top back to black? Thanks.

Do not use the Porsche sealant. It is for canvas tops and will only seal the gray in. Wash wit a soft brush and then apply 303 protectent.

i agree with william... i might also use the 303 cleaner before applying the protectant.
you can read about both here:

Did you get the Porsche top cleaner or just the sealant? Take the sealant back and get the cleaner. The cleaner does a great job on cleaning the top and leaving it very black. Finish with 303 and your top will look silky black.

I have a 2001 S2000 and it came with a canvas top not vinyl like all of you are talking about. The 303 protectant is for vinyl, and it says not to use it on canvas.

SKytop, I think you are mistaken. Your top is vinyl, it just appears to be canvas. IE the vinyl was molded to appear like canvas.

And all this time I thought it was canvas with a good waterproofing. Thanks for the comeback.
