Default Hard water spots

So, Im detailing a 2004 VW Jetta in the pearl red/maroon color and it ALWAYS sits outside. Living up here in Cincinnati, it seems we get a lot of hard water/acid rain/etc. So, with that being said, there are TONS of these blotches all over the car and they just won't come off. I don't feel that bad because the package she picked doesnt include swirl remover/spot removal, but I still want to know how to do it. Im using my PC with Lake Country Pads and hit it with Meg's Swirl Remover 2.0 w/ the yellow pad, then tried using Polishing compound w/ yellow pad, both on speed 4ish. Nothing happend really, it does look a LITTLE bit better, but still...Im not satisfied. Any suggestions? And Im going to be that guy everyone hates, I don't have pictures. Haha

Thanks,
Matt

might be a bit late, but have your tried vinegar???

if not, try some on just one spot to see how it does... if it works, go for it- if not, then i am wondering if you have etches-
yup, pics baby!!
etches are small craters where the clear coat is actually etched away- you cant easily fix etches, you can only make them look better by serious polishing (to take of their edges)-

Hmm, I just delivered the car back. And I know, it looked good enough for anyone Id ever do a detail for, but to us detailers, when we cant get something right, it bugs us. And that is still bugging me. Ill defintiely keep vinegar in mind for next time. Whats the best application method for that? Thanks so much!

Nevermind, just found this link:

Im definitely going to use that. The pic they show of water spots on the bumper is exactly what was all over the entire car.

Thanks,
Matt
