I am a lazy person, but I found out that washing my Stook by hand takes a little less time then my navigator. The question is, when I get my hardtop and it gets chilly and mushy here in Michigan, will the seals be compromised like with the regular top? It would be nice to know that I could run it through a carwash if I had to.

I'd say it's possible if you don't go to one of those brush-less high-pressure washes. I've seen some leaking under the rear window when hand washing (rinsing with high-pressure water jet). On the other hand car washes with rotating brushes can make a real mess scratching the paint, so I've decided to handwash only, even with the hardtop on. I'm not too keen on washing either - I'm lazy too - but I like scratched paint even less.

I have a hard top and you definitely get leakage if you are not careful with the jet wash. The only problem area I have found is also along the seal under the rear screen, you end up with a wet soft-top under the hard-top, not too bad as long as you don't let it get really wet and leave the hard-top on for ages so the soft top goes mouldy.
