Default Have Porter -Cable, what else do I need?

I recently purchased a Porter-Cable 7336 and am wondering what other products I need. My S2000 is Spa Yellow, 3 1/2 years old 51k miles. Always hand washed used a leaf blower to dry. And for polish have always used Zaino.

My car has no significant scratches but under certain lighting conditions I can detect slight swirl marks in the paint. I've done searches and read some info on a number of car product sites but I'm still not certain of what products I need.

What pads and what polishes do I need/

first need to know what you want to accomplish-

wanna remove those swirls, or can you live with them?

you need different pads and products for swirl removal than just maintenance.
btw, zaino is not a polish- sal zaino does call some of his products polishes, but a polish is (in the detailers lingo) usually a product that is used to abrade the finish (kinda like very very light sanding- to remove a micro amount of the finish that contains light scratches, swirls, etc.).

lotsa detailing tips (and how tos) at the top of the wash & wax forum board- or post up your specific questions here and we will be happy to help you out!

Not to hijack the thread, but is it possible to order any of these pads in town? I cant stand waiting for shipping... hence I have a problem ordering online.

I wound up order 3 grades of Menzema polish, intensive, final and finishing touch. Also a couple of white and black pads plus a backing plate necessary to attach their pads.

My best advise about the machine is to use relatively slow rpms and KNOW what you're doing before you begin.

Pads can make you or brake you. I get mine here: www.properautocare.com

I use poorboys Super Swirl remover 2.5, a pretty good all round polish, for the really tough stuff I would suggest Poorboys SSR3 but that should only be used on the sratches if SSR2.5 wont work.

If you intend on using Velcro pads you may also need an adapter for that.
