Default Help after removing side emblems....

OK, so some jerkoff at school decided he wanted my side emblems, and the knob shine didnt even have the brains to get them all off...left me half of a broken S on the passenger side. Luckily he/she did not scratch the paint, or put any dents in it, but I spent about an hour and a half or so with 3M adhesive remover trying to get the remainder of the glue off. I got it all off, and everything is smooth. I went over it with some Meguiars Cleaner Wax, then some RaceGlaze Polish/Wax, and it looks OK for now, but after I took a few pictures, the passenger side still shows signs of the emblem. Its almost like an outline in the clear coat. I do have pics below, but want to know what the best way to get rid of that is.....

I have a friend who is amazing with a buffer, so i may have him run over it really quick to see if maybe the clear coat just needs to be blended a little after the emblems being there for 2 years. Im sure the paint has faded a little bit around the emblems!

Thanks in advance,
John

Its kind of hard to see in the pics, but click on them to get the full size, and it will be more noticeable!

Tri some wd40 and then clean the surface. reapply your wax then buff to shine. If that doesn't get rid of it. then the best way to get rid of that outline is to just put a new badge over it.

first q- are you going to reapply new badges?
you will want to remove all wax before applying.
there are detailed instructions for the exact placement of the badges in the shop manual... and i have seen a post of it before too.
if you have used a paint cleaner (dont know your car, and you might want to clay first) then my guess is that you might have sun stains (the paint has faded slightly where it was not covered)- if so, the best result would be to put new badges on.

I do not want to put new badges on....Im thinking a clay and good buff will probably take care of it though!

Thanks for the quick responses!
