meguire's 3 step
the other day i went out and bought the meguire's 3 step process (paint cleaner, polish, wax) to use on my family's Honda Passport, it has horribly dull paint since it has not been properly cleaned in years, and i was just wondering if there is anything that i should keep in mind, or should worry about when using it, im waiting for the weather to start acting like spring before i use it!!

I personally do not use it, as I prefer a PC to remove swirls and scratches.
But this may help.. taken from another site:
Step 1 is used to remove minor paint defects/problems such as scuffs and minor scratches.
Step 2 removes the very minor scratches left by the Step 1 process (yes, Step 1 actually can leave swirl marks - but in the process, it removes the very evident problems and provides a "controlled" scratch that is easily removed by step 2)
Step 3 is the wax.
If your paint has no minor defects/problems, the Step 1 is not necessary.

I use step 2 on my parents van, am I supposed to let the polish dry to a haze or apply and remove it right after? I usually just let the product dry for about 10 - 15 minutes then remove it, and it's extremely hard to get all of it off.

i use paint cleaners every 3 to 4 years for most, and for cars that sit outside once a year...
if a car needs paint cleaner, it usually needs to be clayed too in my experience.
a paint cleaner will usually bring back lost luster.
