HELP! INK!
I am not happy. Apparently sometime within the past few days I must have run over a blue pen or what was left of a blue pen and now have a lot of blue ink splattered all over the inside of the painted part of my rear wheel well. My s2k is red, and the ink, well, frankly, looks like crap.
I tried all kinds of soap with warm and cold water and cleaner wax, to no avail. Before I started to panic and try something really serious, I decided to run it past you guys for suggestions.
Now, this ink is tough, its not just road tar or some other crap that's easy to get off. The ink is REALLY on there, the soap and wax didn't even help at all. I can always get road tar, etc off with a little elbow grease, but apparently my elbows are not quite greasy enough for ink.
I ran a search, and there was a good topic on ink removal a few months ago, but as far as I could tell, there was no conclusion.
PLEASE help!! Thanks!!

i can not imagine an ink that can stain through a clear coat (you dont see "etching" in the paint do you?), so assuming this stuff is on the surface i would:
1. wash (again) the area with a good car shampoo
2. clay it, while wet, then wash again.
if that doesnt get it, then
3. i would next try a tar remover such as
http://autopia-carcare.com/1z-913910.html
4. then, if still needed, a swirl remover or paint cleaner (which is a light polisher)- work the area well.
if you still have stains, they could be beyond your clear coat (i still can not imagine that)- and the only way to remove will be a more aggressive polish (you will actually be removing the clear coat and some of the paint if this is the case).
i might also try a citrus based cleaner like goo gone if the clay doesnt work (rub hard on a very small area to see if it works).
i imagine your problem should be solved before step #4-
if not, let us know-
btw, i assume that you know that once you get this fixed, you will need to rewax!!
