Help:overspray On Soft Top!
My car came out of the body shop and they got a little over spray here and there on my soft top. I tried scrubing but it just wouldnt come off. Is there any sort of solution i can use? I would appreciate any solutions to my PM please. this is killin me. thanks
darn- i thought we had answered this recently, but cant find the thread!!
anyway, let me give this a start:
1. the company that did the overspray should fix this- even if they have to give you a new top
2. if you really want to try to fix it, i would first try some clay on the top- clay was originally used for the purpose of removing paint overspray (although not on soft tops!!)... you will have to go slow and it might not get the overspray (if it crumbles)- but it is worth trying, as sometimes it works just fine.
3. sometimes tar removers will work on paint, so you could try those:

be very careful and make sure you are using a product that is safe to use on rubber or vinyl- such as:

you should be aware that there is at least some chance that the paint has "burned" the top (paint contains elements that can melt vinyl). if this is the case, you will not be able to fix it.
