Default Help with removing wax from lights...

OK, I have some wax buildup where the writing is on the rear lights. How can I get this out? I tried using some 3M adhesive remover (since this strips wax too) with no success. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
John

not sure what you mean...
if you mean the cracks around the lights, a clean soft toothbrush is one way to get it out. combine it with a small amount of rubbing alcohol (try not to get this on the rest of the car).
another choice would be to try some dawn (dont get it on the waxed parts you want to keep waxed)
i am guessing a soft toothbrush is your solution, but still not sure of the question-
dont push hard, and take your time...

no no. On the tail lights and third brake lights, there is some raised lettering. I have wax stuck inbetween those letters (DOT Blah blah blah) and i cant figure out how to get it out.

You might try a soft toothbrush as wanabe has suggested or a fine microfiber towel and rubbing alcohol... I'm thinking you're going to have to work it pretty well in all directions, maybe even twisting it a bit.

If that doesn't work right off, perhaps very careful use of a round toothpick with rubbing alcohol? My only concern about this is the possibility for scratches, so you might want to test it on a very inconspicuous spot.

Good luck with it.

thanks. I will try the toothpick. Its just on the small letters on the tail lights, so small scratches will be very hard to see in that area unless you are within an inch of the tail light!

A soft toothbrush (kids one) has always worked like a charm for me.
