How to clean Painted Calipers?

Default How to clean Painted Calipers?

Hey guys, just received my Spoon calipers.... I wanna clean them before I put them on... make em look all shiny! what should I clean it with? Brake cleaner?

Don't use brake cleaner then. Use simple green and water.

weird. i responded to this a while ago and my response disappeared...

yeah, brake cleaner eats paint. do not use brake cleaner.

car soap + water + old wash mitt, follow up with clay and/or a paint cleaner like Klasse AIO.

an APC like simple green might also work to remove heavy stuff, but beware that simple green will etch/eat/discolor bare aluminum.

and p21s makes a great wheel cleaner- that and a brush do most of what i need...
