Default how to clean the plastic molding

I was taping my car for polish and waxing but i guess i leave the masking tape on the plastic molding ( those aruond the windshield or on the side of the roof) too long so when i remove those tape it left some glue on the molding .What's the safest way to remove the sticky stuff ?

another question is if the wax do get on those plastic molding , what's the method to remove the dried wax ?

wd-40 or goo-gone are a couple of choices for removing the adhesive... and next time use a tape that does not leave residue (you prob already figured this out!)

and rubbing alcohol will get wax off of the plastic if you get to it quickly. best thing here is to just be careful. wax can stain plastics.

all of the above should be used minimally- they will take wax or adhesives off of the car too.

The best method of removing wax from where it is not wanted is to not get it were it is not wanted in the first place. There are techniques for polishing and waxing that will prevent the wax from going where it is not supposed to go. I have never stuck masking tape to a cars trim for the purpose of detailing in my entire life.
