Default How do I get off bird shit!

I recently washed my s2k after not doing so for a while. On the bonnet there was some birt poo and after cleaning it, there was a fairly yellow stain left under where it was. My car is Silverstone and its really obvious. I couldn get the stuff off and I tried polishing it off. The polish was old and caused scratching and wasent getting the stain off. All it managed to do was scratch the paint around it and make it look a lot worse.

Can anybody offer advice on how to get rid of the stain and the damage from the $^%$'ed poilish.

you prob had some mild etching or staining... and now you have some light scratches it sounds like. all that can easily result from bird droppings.
bird droppings can be acidic and can eat a bit of the clear-

i would start out with something like the p21s cleanser:
http://autopia-carcare.com/p21-123.html

this is a light polish and might work for you.

if not, the next step is a bit heavier polish... i like to first try a swirl remover (the next more aggressive level of polish)-
mine is black and this is what i use (yup, thats my car in the ad!):

if neither of these get it out, you will need a more advanced polish. my guess is that you will at least get most of it out with these. and if not, let us know and we can give you the next step.
btw, if you have never polished before my main tip is to really work the product- i work it until its gone or dusts off... more info:

Thanks mate

Ill give some light polish a go.

When u look at it close up its like a very thin layer that is built up over the clear. Is there nothing that will break it up??
