Odd yellow Sap removal
I recently moved to CA and I noticed at some point in the last couple of weeks, some 1/2" long needle like tree fallings were on the car. They were yellow and when I went to go brush them off, it looked like the sun had baked 1 into the hood and left a yellow imprint. Scratching at it with my finger nail did nothing and a run through the car wash did nothing as well.
What can I safely use on the paint and after it is removed, is all I need to do to prevent paint fade/damage is apply some meguiar carnauba wax? I remember when I had a civic and got sap on it before, I used some kind of "auto sap remover" but it ended up taking some paint off. Would at all costs to avoid this.
Thanks so much!

Thanks. I just got done waxing the whole car, so I was hoping to hold off on this process. I hear WD-40 and Goo-Gone can also work, but I seem hestitant to put those 2 materials on the car for fear or rubbing off paint or make it less glossy....
