Default How do you clean the engine bay?

I want to use a product called GUNK on my engine bay. Is this a good idea, or are there better products out there to clean the engine?

my first choice would be to check this out:

http://properautocare.com/engine.html

(my engine is kept as clean as new, so i dont have to worry about these products and have no personal knowledge)

I used P21S Total Auto Wash on a 91 that hadn't been cleaned in years and had black grease in the bay. It is citrus based, I sprayed it on and then hosed it off. It worked great. Since then I have actually used other Citrus based cleaners on other cars and it worked as well at a fraction of the cost.

A nice combo of Gunk/Armor All Foam Cleaner seems to work very good.

I suggested this in another thread and was told it was a NO-NO! It seems that Simple Green can be quite corrosive.
