303 makes two convertible treatments:
1) Fabric Guard for "canvas like" convertible tops, polyester and olefin awnings, etc.
2) 303 protectant for vinyl.
So which is right for our cars? It is a PVC, but has the texture of canvas - does that make it canvas-like?

I've been using (2).
I wash the top with a sponge and car wash soap, hose it off (kind of tough b/c you don't want to use too much pressure), dry it off with microfiber towels (absorb incredible amounts of water), then after letting it wind dry for a bit I put 303 Protectant on it.
I spray the stuff onto a thin cotton towel and rub it into the top; it doesn't go on smoothly and I really need to scrub it in a bit to get a consistent coat, but eventually it works.

If you are worried about water pressure on your roof whilst hosing off there are a number of solutions.
1) Get an adjustable nozzle on the hose, one that you can change to a "shower" setting preferably.
2) Use a wateringcan full of water. If it has a shower nozzle attachment - even better.
Due to water restrictions in the area, we are not allowed to wash our cars using a hose (only buckets of water). I have therefore been using a watering can.
