Default How often do you claybar your S?

I bought my S2000 back in February and immediately after buying it, I claybared it. I've only driven about 1500 miles since then and have washed and waxed her once during that time. The car gets dusty and will hit an occasional bug or two. Other than that, I only drive her when it's dry outside. How often should I claybar her though?

I spot claybar as needed. If you stay up on the care of your car, the whole car rarely needs it.

agree with ubetit...

each time i wash the car i also do an inspection. i usually wash it then "feel the paint" with the backs of my fingers. i walk around and check a few areas. it is usually feeling very smooth- so it rarely needs to be clayed.
it does depend on where you drive and how you protect the car. if its parked uncovered outside it will need to be clayed more often.
also, a good swirl removal can take the place of the need for clay, although not always. again the test is to feel the car.

Under normal driving conditions, maybe every 6 months or so. Like wanabe said, run your hand across your paint after you wash it and be the judge.

Oh man i guess i really overkill it. I clay the whole car every 2 months. After every wash i use the quick detail stuff too. But i don't have a garage to park in, just a car port that covers 3/4 of the car.

I clay once per year along with a swirl-remover. I also keep it dusted/washed/waxed as needed and it looks just as good at the end of the year as it does right after the clay and swirl-remover.

Once a month, except for winter.

Curious, what do you guys do with your used clay piece?

if it's not that contaminated, do you put it in a ziplock bag for use next time or is it automatically throw away?

Ziplock bag. It'll last for months.
