Default I think I screwed up. Can I fix it?

I just bought my car. It was a demo with 2000 miles on it. When I got it there was swirl mark, mostly on the hood.
I hand wash & dried the car using all the correct technics. I then used meguire's tech wax 2.0.
The car's surface doest feel real smooth, kind of like there might be some tiny bumps of particials on the surface.
And, the swirls that where already there drive me nuts.
I'm new to this & still learning.
Is there anything I can do about the swirls by hand?

You can get a polish that fills in the swirls, wax should help fill in swirls as well. But nothing will make them go away permanately without a buffer or a really really strong hand and some patience.

If the paint is rough, you probably need to claybar.

polish will remove clear coat and evens it off as you buff, this removes the scratch by making a more even surface. wax will help fill in the scratches.

a good clay bar after the wash should help you take care of the bumps and particles you feel. the best way to remove the swirls would be to use a polish a decent cut (not too much since honda paint is pretty soft). after that, top with your favorite wax. all this would definitely be easier with a polisher like a porter cable, but i think that the s2000 is small enough that doing it be hand can be suffice.

Claybar can be done at any time and will remove the wax. Dont worry about the swirls, they are no big deal and can be easily removed. Do some research on the tools and removal or pay a pro to remove them. Many amazing mobile detailer and skilled people on this s2ki.

Easiest way to remove wax is to wash the car with Dawn dish soap. It will take the wax right off and then you can remove the contaminants in the paint with a clay bar. Just follow the instructions on the clay bar. You will be able to feel and hear the contaminants coming off.

When it feels clean and smooth, take a good look at your swirls. You may need to polish with a fine abrasive.

check out our how to thread for lots more info...

and my most popular suggestion remains:
post up in your local forum on this board, that you want someone to show you how to clay and polish and you offer to supply refreshments if they supply the machine and know how.

Clay bar, them 3m Imperial hand glaze, part # 05990 followed up by a good carnuba wax. This has always been my formula and has always worked for me.
