Give this a try:

http://www.motoemporium.com/hondapol...ndapolish.html

It should be available on the shelf at any Honda motorcycle dealer. I have had great luck removing cone marks after an autocross with this. It also removes the boot scuff marks on my painted hardcases on my motorcycle.

conedodger- interesting suggestion... i am interested in hearing how it works

agentoragne- assuming that this is just some rubber that has been rubbed into your paint, i think that clay is also a good choice. clay was invented to remove paint overspray- what you have should be easier to remove than paint overspray.

i am looking forward to hearing how this goes- what worked for you.
of course, once you get this stuff off- be sure to rewax.

very lucky that this didnt dent that hood !

i don't know if this is a bad suggestion or not (since i've never tried it on car paint), but i wonder if one of those mr. clean magic erasers would work? you can find them at target, supermarkets, wal-mart, etc. they're great at removing just about any kind of scuff mark off my walls at home, but again, i've never tried it on car paint ...

When I hit a big hunk of tire shrapnel on the freeway it left rubber debris as well. Clay took it all right off...I'd try that first...

Reminds me of the time I forgot to close the passenger side door on a 1967 BMW 1600 while in the garage. I don't remember why I had it open. When I backed out of the garage the door hit the support post. I found a door for not much money at the junk yard to replace it. Luckily the car body wasn't damaged.

Then there was the time I 'tested' the front brakes on a '84 BMW R100RT and locked up the wheel at about 25 mph, low-sided the bike and put a hole in my jeans. Love those horizontal jugs. The bike was undamaged!!

I think the Mr. Clean erasers are pretty abrasive.

Use adhesive remover (Goo-gone/goof-off), it'll take the rubber mark right off. Follow with a quick wax over the effected area, and you're good to go.

I'm going to move this thread to Wash n' Wax where you'll get the best answers - not saying you're getting bad ones thus far.
