Default ironing our leather seats?

I was wondering if anyone ever took off the seat covers and ironed the wrinkles out. I have a few on the side bolster that I would like to try and make less visible if possible. I was wondering if ironing the out would help or if anyone has any other suggestions.

Thanks
Mike

I don't think you'd be able to iron them out... I think they're like creases in paper, you can smooth em out, but not completely rid them. But thats just my thoughts on it, I am by no means a leather expert...

I would not recommend this, but I do not know whether this would work for sure or not.

I think you can use a heat gun or blow dryer for creases, but I would be careful doing this because if you don't know what you're doing you could ruin the leather...

As a professional drycleaner, I could cime in on this

The wrinkles that you are seeing are typically not just wrinkles. More than likely your seat's color has crocked (loss of dye). This happens in areas that have been over-worked while having moisture present(typically, but not always). Ever throw a black pair of pants or shirt in your washer and it come out looking swale-like with white waves? Same thing in this case-

As far as ironing, its possible, but will it work? I doubt you will get the results you want, and leather is not easy to "finish." Re-dying? Nah, forget it, good luck getting it to match

Whats your time worth? In the end it probly wont look as you would want- I suggest purchasing a seat in better shape, or Katskinning it

As someone who used to own a leather business I would advise you not to use an iron or heat gun, you don't want to dry out or cook your leather, too much dry heat.

Do not even attempt to iron or apply too much heat to leather as you will do irreversible damage...
