Default Keyhole covers

I have just had a very pleasant surprise! This last April I purchased a set of keyhole covers for my "S" at WTD07. If you don't know about these, they are color matched inserts that "plug" into the keyhole on the doors and trunk of your "S" providing a clean appearance to the exterior of the car. Anyway, this last month I noticed that the paint on the covers had flaked off! Since I am going to a car show this month, I wanted my car to look good and so I ordered replacements from Bumperplugs.com. I fully intended to pay for these, but I mentioned that my old ones had flaked. This morning I got an e-mail from them. FULL REFUND! and replacements are on the way!

Anyway, I thought I would give mention to fellow wash & wax wackos that these guys are stand-up.

*sighs* Im envious of your Berlina.... Effing Illinois sucks for keeping a black car clean, I clean my car literally daily. Whether its UQD for the dust, or vacuuming. I'm also envious of the Convertible cover, and the wheels. I'm deciding whether thats where my money should go after basic training, or towards a road trip, or towards backpacking in europe, or towards a college loan I have, or towards my loan for my car.... It's a tough choice... and $14,000 to play with...

He mentioned that this seems to be a problem with NFR - hasn't had many problems with the other colors. Anyway I'll keep mine and buy more when nessecary - Got my first one's in 04, and they lasted 3 years. don't really know why these chipped so quickly, but as long as he stands behind the product, I'll stand behind him.

3 years! mine lasted 3 months at most. i think it was because i kept taking them out when i washed my car though. when your paint flaked off, did the whole red part come off leaving the black plastic?

YES! It did happen with the second pair. The first pair just chipped around the edges. Not sure why the second set failed so completely, but it may have something to do with the heat. When I got in the car, everything was find - when I got out - big round black spot where a NFR key cover was. We will see how these hold up!

I bought a set from these folks some months back and they have held up well so far.
Gives a little bit cleaner looks.
And it helps spend some of the money just burning a hole in the pocket -know what I mean?
