Alright guys. I am posting this because I know several body shop experts frequent this forum. My fiancee drives a MY00 Lexus RX 300.

About three weeks ago, she was involved in a hit an run at school. Nothing too big, just a 8"x8" patch of paint scraped off the bumper. Having some body experience, I am going to repaint it myself.

I went to my local paint store today to try and get a quote on the paint and they were on help.

The car's door jam lists the paint code as C/TR 057 (tri-coat, white peral). However, the cladding and trim code is listed as code UCAA6 (silver metallic clear coat). The funny thing is that the cladding and trim look gold.

My question: Do I purchase the 057 paint, then apply the UCAA6 clear to end up with the golden look? Or, do I just apply UCAA6 for the gold look?

i am not the expert in paint, but will monitor this to try to move it back up for a day or so to try to find someone who does know paint...
