Liquid Clay Bar
I would think that wash and wax fanatics, whose car's are already impecable would probably not notice much of a difference. I think the true comparison would be to take two cars (i.e. two MY00 Berlina Black S2k's) whose owners haven't really done much detail work to them, and use traditional clay method on one, and the Turtlewax on the other.
how the heck is it supposed to work. " A unique triple layer formula consists of a scratch & swirl remover, cleaning agents and an exfoliant that work together to provide outstanding cleaning capabilities." Sounds like an ordinary pre polish cleaner to me
Personally, this sounds like one product that's trying to do too much. It claims to remove scratches/swirls, cleans, and picks up contaminants on the top of the paint (or as Turtle wax says, "ex-foliates"). A regular clay bar is intended to only remove surface contamination.
Generally, I don't like combination car care products. All those 'leather cleaner/condition er in one' products don't work as well as a separate cleaner and conditioner applied one by one. The same goes for swirl removal and protection. There are a lot of great swirl removers out there (SSR 2.5, Menzerna IP, SFX2, etc.) however they don't leave any protection on the paint, another product needs to be used to finish off what was started.
I think the same will go for a clay bar. IMHO when it comes down to it, you can't beat the real deal.
Finally, the more I read these forums (and other forums like this one) the one thing that gets drilled into my head is "prep, prep, prep, prep". Good results are achieved from all that extra effort put into surface prep so that when the final coat of wax or sealant is applied the car looks it's best. A well prepared surface forms the base of your results. This product is trying to shortcut a few steps and as a result, I don't think it will be as effective as a clay bar. However, it will probably be easier to use and will involve less work, albeit at the cost of achieving that perfect surface. My 2c.

Very well put.
