I had the same problem, but to a very limited degree. Be careful not to apply it too heavily, put some elbow grease into buffing, and use a vacuum to clear the residue out of the perforations.

I like the Hein Gerike water soluble leather cleaner/conditioner sold for motorcycle jackets.

I too have used the Meguiar's Gold Class, in fact, just earlier today! I'm pretty happy with it...
