I used Meguiars Leather Conditioner on my seats yesterday and they turned out smeared.

Will a re-application fix this?

Muz,

What do you mean by, smeared?

Has it been applied too heavily or is it just difficult to remove with a dry cotton towel?

Every time I go to the basement to wash or clean the car people stop and talk. I think I was being inattentive when I did it and may have applied it unevenly.

I can notice some lighter patches on the seats. Perhaps another buff is in order.

If you wanna do it right, check out www.leatherique.com. I restored the leather
in my 1997 BMW 740iL. The seats feel brand new! Lotta work, but you're talking about 2
small seats. Good luck

When I conditioned my seats with Zymol leather conditioner the same thing happened. Actually, mine came out splotchy. It took about a month for it to fade.

I believe our seats don't need this treatment but once or twice a year.

One way to accelerate the "repair" is to leave the car, top up, in the sun and let the interior get really hot and then buff the crap out of the seats.

Hey did anyone take a look at that Leatherique website? Interesting pointers they give you, but check out the car that won "Best Leather Interior" on the Autoshow link at the top of the first page.

Pretty ugly interior if you ask me.

I have used Meguiars Leather Conditioner successfully. Didn't put it on to heavily and the buffed it with a cotton towel after a couple of minutes.

Townsend makes a conditioner that is especially formulated for its leather. I'm talking to them now about providing it to those who've bought my leather accessories.
