Default Lubricant on pads?

The Properautocare site lists a pad lubricant. Is this necessary? Do you use some sort of lubricant? I checked the Better Car Care FAQ and saw no mention of a pad lube.

Its a good idea. It helps when you start using a new pad so its not just foam rubbing on your paint until your pad is actually covered in wax.

Not sure if you could just spray it with some QD?

I use one quick spray of my QD from about 18 inches away. Don't get it real wet though or you'll sling.

Applied 3m Swirl Remover for the 2nd time today. Didn't get them all out the first time 'cause the pad was too wet. Repeated the application today, and the results are great! Virtually zero swirls - mirror like! Thanks!

okay, one of my questions got answered today.

How about after polishing and waxing? what can you use to wash the pads afterwards? and should I air dry them. I just bought brand new edge pads, and don't want to ruin them.

I can't get my hands on that stuff today. can I use any regular household cleaners or car wash to wash the pads?
