like most things detailing oriented I think you'll find there is no consensus. There's too much personal opinion involved and not enough objective measures.

^Makes sense.

So in that case, what is your MF of choice and why?

I have a few different kinds of towels in my collection. I find different towels work better with different products and for different functions.

Hmmm . . . let's see I have some towels from:

-Sonus
-Cobra
-DF Towel
-Meguiar's
-Costco
-Detail City

It would be a rather long explanation to explain where and why I use each one. Especially when you consider these are just the brands. I have different weave styles that are the same brand.

I use towels from costco and I polished a fender under a couple 1000 watts of halogen light and didn't introduce any swirls....

Whatever happened to the guy who started this thread? There were a lot of follow up questions asked that it would be nice to have answers to.

Can you show us a picture of what towels you're talking about without magnification? Each vendor you mention sells several different type of towel and some are different weave styles. So, I'd like to know what you're comparing. Also, which of these towels have been previously used? If all three have been used has it been approximately the same amount?
Hey MickeyC, sorry for the late reply. I've been swamped at work.

I can post some pictures of the towels without magnification for sure. I'll try to get those up tonight. In the meantime:

from DD:
DD's Premium Microfiber Towel 16x16 Red

from Autogeek:

Also, all the towels were unused at the time.
